Executive Team

Gordon Private Hospital operates under the guidance and leadership of an experienced team of health care professionals. With a diversity of experience in both large and small hospital settings, we bring a vibrancy and professionalism to the administration of the hospital.

Catherine Andrews

Director of Clinical Services

Catherine has more than 40 years’ employment in health-related fields and an extensive background in all areas of mental health. She has held senior clinical and administrative positions in mental health and is passionate about patient-centred care.

Dr Dinah Bennett

Director of Medical Services

Dr Dinah Bennett is a consultant psychiatrist with extensive experience in the public and private sectors. Dr Bennett is a graduate of Sydney University Medical School and holds Fellowship to the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.

Dr Matthew Currell

Program Co-ordinator

Dr Currell is the co-ordinator of therapy programs at Gordon Private Hospital. He is a clinical psychologist with extensive experience in public and private psychiatric hospitals as well as private practice. He completed a Doctor of Psychology in clinical psychology and clinical neuropsychology at the University of Queensland and holds endorsements as a clinical psychologist and clinical neuropsychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA). Dr Currell is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and APS College of Clinical Psychologists.

Dr Mukesh Kumar

MB BS, MD, FRANZCP

Dr Mukesh Kumar completed his bachelors degree in 1999. He has two post graduate degrees in psychiatry and has been working in the field of psychiatry for over 16 years. He is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of psychiatrists and has experience of working in both public and private sector.

His area of interest are psychological therapies for mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorders etc.) and pharmacological therapies for psychotic illnesses. He has experience in working across all ages of patients with varied, complex and challenging  clinical presentations. His work experience involved treating young adults with predominantly mood and personality disorders. He has also worked with older aged patients, including in nursing homes. Dr Kumar works as a consultant psychiatrist in private clinics and Gordon Private Hospital . He is fluent in English and Hindi.
